Casiodoro de Reina - Sculpture

After twelve arduous years of pressure, persecution, and constant fleeing from his pursuers, Casiodoro de Reina finished the complete Spanish translation of the Bible, though he himself testified it was hastily and at times insufficiently rendered, thus in need of further revision. He lived in exile, never to return to his home country again because King Philip of Spain placed a bounty on his head in 1564.

No history of the Spanish Bible is complete without recognizing this courageous translator.

The Bible History Sculpture Series is a Biblical Heritage Exhibit exclusive. To create this historical collection, the artist's clay was hand-sculpted with painstaking detail by Brandon Lane, a member of our Biblical Heritage Exhibit team. Each finished clay bust was then used to create a mold to allow for small-batch casting. The resulting item is a marble-stone, resin casting finished with a bronze patina and a brass and gloss-black nameplate.

Product Dimensions: 5" wide x 5.5" deep x 11.25" high

Product Weight: 11.15 lb.

Because each sculpture is hand-finished rather than mass-produced, there will naturally be some color variation and no two will be exactly alike. This is part of the nature and beauty of handmade objects, and should not be considered a flaw or defect.

If you are attempting to match your previous sculpture purchases, or have a particular look in mind (more or fewer highlights, for example), please contact us and we will be happy to provide photos of our current inventory so you can select the exact sculpture that will be shipped to you.
