The 1569 La Biblia Del Oso, better known as the "Bear Bible" for its artwork on the title page or as the Reina Bible, was translated by Casiodoro de Reina. Utilizing the Masoretic text (Hebrew text), the Veteris et Novi Testamenti nova translatio (Hebrew to Latin text), and the 1553 Ferrara Bible as the basis of his translation. The Bear Bible was first printed in Basil, Switzerland, in Middle Spanish and included the works of the Apocrypha.
